Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russia has carried out its largest drone attack on Ukraine since the start of the war.
President Zelenskyy condemned Russia for its “air terror” as he reported more than 250 drones had hit Ukraine overnight.
This attack comes just ahead of the third-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by land, air, and sea, which began on 24 February 2022.
“Our people stand against aerial terror every day,” the President wrote on X.
“On the eve of the third anniversary of the full-scale war, Russia launched 267 attack drones at Ukraine – the largest attack since Iranian drones began hitting Ukrainian cities and villages.”
According to Ukraine’s air force, a total of 138 drones were shot down and another 119 lost from radar after being disrupted by electronic warfare. Damage was reported across five regions.
Mr. Zelenskyy, who has had a difficult few days following US President Donald Trump’s comments calling him a “dictator,” reported that Russia has launched nearly 1,150 attack drones, over 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 35 missiles of various types at Ukraine in the past week.
