The woman who settled a compensation claim against Prince Andrew after accusing him of sexual assault is now facing legal action for allegedly violating a restraining order.
The court appearance is set after Virginia Giuffre recently claimed that she had been told she had “four days to live” following a car accident involving a school bus.
Ms Giuffre, who resides in Australia, is charged with violating a family violence restraining order in Ocean Reef, near Perth, on 2 February, according to Western Australia (WA) Courts.
Her case was initially heard at Joondalup Magistrates’ Court in northern Perth on 14 March, without a plea entered, as WA Courts reported.
The matter is slated to appear in court again on 9 April.
Ms Giuffre stated in an Instagram post last week that the car she was in was “slowing for a turn” when struck by a school bus travelling at 110km/h (68mph).
The 41-year-old posted images showing her badly bruised and lying in a hospital bed, stating she had “gone into kidney renal failure”.
Police reported a “minor crash” between a school bus and a car in Neergabby, about 12 miles north of Perth, on 24 March.
No injuries were initially documented following the impact, reported a spokesperson.
In her Instagram post, Ms Giuffre shared, “I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology.
“I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what they say about wishes. S**t in one hand and wish in the other & I guarantee it’s still going to be s**t at the end of the day.”
Ms Giuffre later clarified through a spokesperson that the Instagram post was an error and intended for her private Facebook page.
She expressed her gratitude for the support she received and stated she remains in a severe condition while receiving medical treatment following the accident on 24 March in rural Western Australia, when a school bus struck her vehicle.
Adding, “At the time of the crash she was injured and later, her condition deteriorated leading to hospitalization.”
Ms Giuffre is known to be estranged from her husband.
She expressed her concern for her children in a previous Instagram post, stating, “My beautiful babies have no clue how much I love them and they’re being poisoned with lies. I miss them so very much.”
Ms Giuffre is among the most vocal accusers of the late paedophile financier, Jeffrey Epstein.
Ms Giuffre pursued Prince Andrew for alleged sexual assault when she was 17 after being trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein.
The duke has denied the allegations and has not faced criminal charges.
Despite this, he settled the case with Ms Giuffre, claiming they had never met.
