Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed gratitude to Ukraine’s allies for condemning Russian strikes following one of the deadliest days for civilians in the country this year.
Ukraine’s president labeled the attacks as a “vile and inhumane intimidation tactic” by Russia.
The White House administration’s suspension of intelligence sharing with Ukraine, reportedly, had no deterrent effect as Russia conducted heavy aerial attacks overnight into Saturday.

The US government has stepped up pressure on Zelenskyy’s administration to start peace talks with Russia.
American aerospace company Maxar Technologies has disabled access to its satellite imagery for Kyiv, severely affecting Ukraine’s capability to strike inside Russia and protect itself from bombardment.
Over 22 individuals were killed in several Russian strikes, including a significant attack in the frontline town of Dobropillia, in Ukraine’s besieged eastern Donetsk region.

Russian strike kills at least 11 in Ukraine
Russia’s strikes hit the town center with two ballistic missiles, followed by an attack on responders, according to Mr Zelenskyy. Forty-seven individuals, including children, were injured.
“It is a vile and inhumane intimidation tactic that Russia frequently employs,” he stated.
The president added: “It was one of the most brutal strikes, a combined attack. The strike was deliberately planned to cause maximum damage. Missiles and a Shahed drone targeted the town’s central part.
“Nine residential buildings were hit. The shopping center and stores were also struck.”

Seven more people were killed in four towns near the frontline where Russian troops are advancing.
Three others died when a Russian drone struck a civilian workshop in the northeastern Kharkiv region, and one man perished from shelling in the area.
The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine stated it was among the deadliest 2025 attacks on Ukrainian civilians.

Days before, Russia attacked Ukrainian energy facilities with numerous missiles and drones.
These assaults disrupted Ukraine’s ability to provide power and maintain its defense manufacturing.
Responding to a question about whether Russian President Vladimir Putin uses the US halt on intelligence sharing to strike Ukraine, Mr. Trump said: “He’s doing what anyone else would.”
Mr. Zelenskyy didn’t mention intelligence sharing on Saturday but welcomed Mr. Trump’s recommendation to implement banking sanctions and tariffs on Russia until a permanent ceasefire and peace accord is achieved.
Mr. Zelenskyy appreciated the support from all leaders, diplomats, and notable figures from partnering countries, criticizing Russian strikes and calling for an end to these violations.
“I’m grateful for the support from partner countries, and it’s crucial that we maintain coordination with them to ensure our defense strategies work effectively towards achieving peace,” he said.
Mr. Zelenskyy will travel to Saudi Arabia with other Ukrainian officials next week to debate proposals aimed at ending the war.
He intends to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday, with his team remaining to negotiate with US officials.
