Actress Anjelica Huston opens up about her six-year battle with cancer and shares that she is currently cancer-free.

73-year-old actress Anjelica Huston has revealed her private battle with cancer. Six years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer, but she’s now “in the clear.” Anjelica declined to reveal what type of cancer she had but shared that the diagnosis came shortly after the release of her 2019 film, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. She describes the experience as a “very serious moment” and says it made her more conscious of what she shouldn’t do or where she shouldn’t go. One of these places was taking life too seriously – she now tries to laugh and not make a big deal out of things.

Huston continues to have regular scans and has been “in the clear” for four years. She feels grateful to have made it this far, giving credit to her doctors. Anjelica decided to share her story to help other people. She believes talking about it and celebrating the fact that she overcame it is beneficial.

In recent years, Huston has focused mainly on voice roles, such as in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch and animation Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Her latest on-screen role was as the lead in the BBC Agatha Christie series, Towards Zero. Anjelica has expressed that she does not plan to retire, as she can’t imagine stopping her work, even for herself.
