Andrew Tate and His Brother Depart Romania for the United States Following the Removal of Travel Restrictions | Andrew Tate

The brothers Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate, who have been labeled as “misogynist influencers,” have departed Romania on a private jet to travel to the United States. This move comes after the authorities lifted their travel restrictions. Both brothers were arrested three years prior, facing accusations of rape, human trafficking, and money laundering. They boarded their flight from Bucharest’s Băneasa Airport at 5:30 AM (03:30 GMT), bound for Florida, as reported by local media outlet Antena 3.

Romania’s public prosecutor’s office confirmed approval for their travel to the US during the ongoing investigation, with a requirement for them to return for a court hearing in March. Andrew Tate, a 38-year-old former professional kickboxer, and his 36-year-old brother have faced a travel ban since their arrest in late 2022, along with two Romanian women, on charges related to human trafficking, rape, and the creation of a criminal gang aimed at sexually exploiting women.

Additionally, Romania’s Diicot, the anti-organized crime unit, initiated a separate investigation in August for crimes including forming an organized criminal group, human trafficking, trafficking of minors, sexual interaction with a minor, and money laundering. The Tates and their suspected accomplices have denied all charges.

The brothers, who hold both British and US citizenship, are also under scrutiny by UK authorities due to allegations of sexual aggression in a case from 2012. A Romanian court has determined that proceedings in Romania must conclude first. The brothers’ travel to the US follows reports that former Trump administration figures had discussed their case with Romanian officials at the Munich Security Conference, though both Romanian and US officials have denied any form of pressure being applied.

Andrew Tate, known for his misogynistic views and hate speech, has been prohibited from various social media platforms but maintains a significant following on X, where he promotes an ultra-masculine lifestyle that critics argue degrades women. In the Diicot’s second case against the brothers, allegations claim the Tates used the “loverboy” method to coerce 34 women into producing pornography for online sale, totaling nearly $3 million ($2.1 million GBP). The case also includes allegations of forcing a 17-year-old to produce porn in both Britain and Romania, generating $1.5 million, and engaging in sexual relations with a 15-year-old.
