The suspect in the 14 June shooting that targeted two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses, with one resulting fatality, has been arrested late Sunday night, according to the Associated Press and the New York Times.
Vance Boelter, 57, is charged with fatally shooting Democratic state representative Melissa Hortman and her spouse, Mark. He is also accused of seriously injuring state senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, at their home.
Police responded to a shooting at Hortman’s residence and pursued the suspect, who was wearing a uniform that closely resembled that of law enforcement. Despite its appearance, the uniform was not legitimate and would likely have been indistinguishable to the general public.
