During the Avalon Airshow’s first day, a serious incident occurred when a pilot lost control of their plane during an aerobatics display, resulting in a crash onto the tarmac.

Victoria police confirmed that the incident took place on Friday at approximately 5:15pm.

Emergency services were dispatched after reports of the plane losing control while performing a demonstration at the air show.

According to police, the pilot, who was the only person on board, sustained serious injuries.

Fortunately, the incident occurred at a considerable distance from the spectators, and no additional injuries have been reported.

At present, the specific circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, police stated.
