The UK’s Foreign Secretary has expressed criticism against Israeli authorities for denying entry to two Labour MPs and deporting them. According to a statement from the Israeli immigration ministry cited by Sky News and Politics UK, Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed were refused entry due to suspicions of plans to “document the activities of security forces and spread anti-Israel hatred”. Both MPs, representing Berkshire and Sheffield Central respectively, arrived at Ben Gurion airport from Luton with their aides. In response, the Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, stated that this treatment of British parliamentarians is “unacceptable, counterproductive, and deeply concerning”. He emphasized his disapproval to Israeli counterparts and assured the MPs of support. The UK government maintains their focus on securing a ceasefire, negotiations, and ending the conflict in Gaza.
