In Cambodia’s village of Kranhuong, which was previously a battlefield, an old grenade explodes and kills two young children. The explosion happened when the children, Muo Lisa and Thum Yen, found and accidentally detonated the long-undeployed weapon from their family farms as their parents were working. With a long history of conflict, Cambodia still has an estimated 4-6 million land mines and other unexploded weapons scattered throughout the countryside. This leads to ongoing casualties over the years, with the hope that the efforts of deminers and organizations like the UN can help resolve this issue.
