Joshua Dale Brown, an alleged childcare paedophile, may face additional charges as the court has granted the police more time to investigate him. Brown’s next court appearance has been rescheduled for 2026, and police have requested more time to compile evidence against him. Magistrate Donna Bakos approved an application by the police to extend the deadline to provide the hand-up brief of evidence to Brown’s lawyers until December 4. The matter will be heard again on February 10.
There was also an extension for Brown’s co-accused, Michael Simon Wilson, who will have his next court appearance for a committal mention on November 15. The court did not require the accused men to be physically present for the brief administrative hearing. Brown, who is currently charged with more than 70 offences, and Wilson, who faces 45 charges including possessing child abuse material and other serious offenses, have not yet entered a plea. Both cases are still in the early stages.
