Labour donor Dale Vince has won a libel case against political blogger Paul Staines, who has agreed to pay compensation and legal fees for false accusations of supporting Hamas. Vince remains committed to pursuing a full trial against Richard Tice, the Reform UK deputy leader, over similar claims. The dispute is centered on an edited video from a Times Radio interview where Vince commented on the definition of terrorism and freedom fighters. Vince has previously succeeded in obtaining apologies and damages from the Daily Mail and GB News for similar issues. Vince stated that while he is open to an apology and correction, Tice maintains he has a strong defense as his tweet was deemed an opinion by the judge, potentially leading to an award of costs in his favor.
