Brad Pitt is set to star in a follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The project, which has been written by Tarantino, will be directed by David Fincher, according to sources in the Playlist and confirmed by Deadline. The 2019 film, an alternative-history drama, saw Pitt play stunt performer Cliff Booth opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie. While official plot details for the new project are yet to be released, reports suggest it will expand on the original rather than serve as a sequel. Tarantino, who is also known for his earlier work selling scripts for films like True Romance and Natural Born Killers, seems to have passed directing duties to Fincher. This project marks a change for Sony Pictures, as it has been picked up by Netflix, with whom Fincher has collaborated on a series of productions. It remains to be seen whether the new script will include Booth’s character from Tarantino’s scrapped “final” movie, The Movie Critic, and if the roles for DiCaprio and Robbie will be reprised.
