Enormous pearls and sparkling bows spotted at Chanel’s star-studded Paris show | Fashion Collection

Chanel made a striking entrance at Paris fashion week, wrapped in a black steel ribbon that stretched 368 meters, symbolizing the brand’s blend of chic and toughness. Despite being without a designated creative lead for nearly a year, until new designer Matthieu Blazy takes over next month, Chanel’s enduring image largely owes to its legendary founder Coco Chanel. The brand remains loyal to its core styles, ensuring consistent appeal to consumers, much like the enduring popularity of cheeseburgers.

Actress Elle Fanning, known for her bold fashion choices, was among the celebrities who admired the collection, which featured silk tweed suits and accessories adorned with oversized pearls. The show also highlighted Chanel’s iconic handbags, underlining the significant profit these items bring to the brand.

At Louis Vuitton, the theme was cinematic, with Nicolas Ghesquière blending elements from classic train travel and pop culture, creating a unique and nostalgic fashion experience. Curvy dresses paying homage to Marilyn Monroe and a nod to Kraftwerk’s album art showcased the designer’s knack for blending the old with the new. Ghesquière’s long-standing position at Louis Vuitton, with the contract extended until his 15th year in charge, offers stability in an often turbulent fashion landscape, concluding the show with a warm reception from loyal client Brigitte Macron.
