Erin Patterson Refutes Claims of Intentionally Collecting Lethal Death Cap Mushrooms; Cross-Examination Commences | Victoria

Erin Patterson has denied intentionally collecting death cap mushrooms and calculating the lethal dose for poisoning individuals. However, she admitted to giving false statements to police during the investigation into the fatal lunch incident. Patterson is currently on trial for three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder relating to the poisoning of her in-laws with beef wellington at her home in Leongatha on 29 July 2023. She has pleaded not guilty to murdering her estranged husband Simon’s parents, Don and Gail Patterson, and his aunt Heather Wilkinson, as well as attempting to murder Ian Wilkinson, Simon’s uncle and Heather’s husband. The trial is expected to continue for at least two more weeks.
