FBI Agents Force Entry into California Residence of Woman and Minors | CA

Federal agents in Huntington Park, California, forcibly entered a private residence on Friday using an explosive device, which shattered a window. Security camera footage captured agents setting up the explosive device near the entrance before detonating it. Subsequently, around a dozen heavily armed agents stormed the home.

Jenny Ramirez, a resident of the house along with her boyfriend and their one-year-old and six-year-old children, tearfully recounted the explosive device as one of the loudest sounds she has ever heard. She expressed her distress, stating, “You guys didn’t have to do this, you scared my son, my baby.”

Ramirez noted that she and her family received no prior notification from authorities about their intention to enter the premises, and she emphasized that all residents are U.S. citizens. The raid is taking place amid a heightened immigration enforcement crackdown in Los Angeles and throughout southern California. Raids have taken place in courts, restaurants, and on the streets, and some U.S. citizens have inadvertently been caught in these efforts.

After the explosive device was used at Ramirez’s residence, agents reportedly deployed a drone inside the house. The video footage shows agents gaining entry in a dramatic manner. Ramirez was informed that her boyfriend was the target but was not given a reason for his apprehension. She explained that a vehicle collision involving her boyfriend and a truck occupied by federal agents occurred the previous week, which she described as an unintentional accident.

A spokesperson for Customs and Border Protection stated that Jorge Sierra-Hernandez was arrested because he allegedly rammed his car into a CBP vehicle, causing damage and impeding law enforcement operations during a vehicles collision. According to the agency, agents were assaulted during this incident, and “additional rioters threw rocks and other objects” at personnel.

Customs and Border Protection did not respond to The Guardian’s inquiry for additional comments.

On the same day in Huntington Park, another incident saw a man arrested for impersonating an ICE agent. Police apprehended the individual after he parked in a disabled zone. Authorities discovered a firearm and documents in his vehicle that appeared to be from Homeland Security Investigations and CBP. The man faced charges of carrying an allegedly unregistered firearm and was later released on bail.
