The deaths of a married British couple in southern France are being investigated as a murder-suicide. Andrew Searle and Dawn Kerr, both in their 60s, were found dead in the hamlet of Les Pesquiès in Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Aveyron, on February 6th. Kerr was found partially undressed and with a severe head injury outside her house, while Searle was found hanged inside. Police are conducting an investigation to determine if the couple’s deaths were a result of a murder-suicide or if a third party was involved. The prosecutor in charge has stated that there is no evidence of any other involvement in the deaths. The couple were the mother and stepfather of Scottish actor and musician Callum Kerr, who had a role in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks and appeared in Netflix’s Virgin River. A statement on Callum Kerr’s social media accounts expressed grief and requested privacy for the family during this difficult time. Searle, who was a retired fraud investigator, and Kerr had been living in Aveyron for five years. French prosecutors stated that the couple were British expatriates and owners of the house where their bodies were found.
