Federal officials’ private information, including cell numbers and email addresses, has been published online, according to a Der Spiegel report. The compromised details include data from security advisors Mike Waltz, defense secretary Pete Hegseth, and director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. This information was reportedly found using data-search services and breached databases posted online. Der Spiegel states that some details might not be current, and that they were able to verify the activity of at least one of the accounts within the past days. The Trump administration has faced bipartisan criticism following disclosures of Signal group chats discussing military operations in Yemen. The chats included Vice-President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and others. On Wednesday, Trump defended Hegseth while labeling the scandal a “witch-hunt.” The data reportedly connects to social media and online storage profiles, as well as location-tracking applications.
