Authorities are searching for two Australian men suspected of fatally shooting a Melbourne man and injuring another at a villa on the Indonesian resort island of Bali. According to the Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Dfat), a man was killed and another was injured in the shooting that occurred just after midnight on Friday at Villa Casa Santisya near Munggu Beach in the district of Badung. The victim who died, Zivan Radmanovic, 32, from Melbourne, was shot in a bathroom where 17 bullet casings and two intact bullets were found. The second victim, who is 34 and also from Melbourne, was beaten. The motive of the shooting cannot yet be determined. The two Australians were taken to hospitals in Denpasar. Dfat confirmed on Sunday morning it was helping the family of a dead man but would not confirm his name. The department stated that it is providing consular assistance to the family of an Australian who died in a shooting incident in Bali. It also confirmed that it stands ready to provide consular assistance to another Australian who was injured in the same incident. The villa had only three rooms occupied with a total of five guests when the shooting happened. Witnesses at the villa stated that two gunmen arrived on a scooter at the villa around midnight. Radmanovic’s wife found her husband’s body and the injured Australian after hearing her husband screaming and gunshots. The Australian consulate in Bali has been contacted by authorities and an autopsy for further investigation was waiting permission from the family of the victim.
