Liberals and Nationals reach consensus on reunifying coalition following week-long, dramatic separation | Coalition Update

The Liberal Party and The Nationals have come to terms to reunite after their tumultuous separation. Sussan Ley, the leader of the Liberal Party, is set to introduce her shadow cabinet on Wednesday following the Nationals’ assent to the agreement during a virtual party room meeting.

According to Liberal sources, Ley is currently in the process of informing members of parliament about their functions within her new frontbench team.

The shadow cabinet is expected to comprise of 14 Liberals and six representatives from The Nationals.

As stated in The Guardian, David Littleproud, the leader of The Nationals, has sought endorsement from the party room for certain guarantees to be added to the policy objectives of the country party, which were requested by the Liberals.
