Lisa Millar and Poh Ling Yeow are both in the running for the prestigious Gold Logie award, a notable honor in the Australian television industry.

Lisa Millar, Poh Ling Yeow, Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Ally Langdon, Sonia Kruger, and Lynne McGRanger are among the nominees for the 65th Gold Logie. The nominees for the title of most popular personality on Australian television include comedians Hamish Blake and Julia Morris, A Current Affair host Ally Langdon, and presenter Sonia Kruger. Lynne McGRanger, who recently announced her retirement from Home and Away after more than 32 years, is also nominated. The Logies continues to award both popularly and peer-voted categories, with the system overhauled last year to combine peer assessment, audience data, and public votes. Guy Montgomery is nominated for the Graham Kennedy award for most popular new talent. Blake, Morris, and Kruger are also nominees for the Bert Newton award for most popular presenter. Langdon is joined by journalists David Speers, Sarah, and Michael Usher for the Ray Martin award for most popular news or public affairs presenter. The Netflix series Territory dominates the Silver Logies category for best actor and actress in a drama. Streaming platforms dominate the best drama category with the ABC’s Return to Paradise and The Newsreader as the only free-to-air nominees. Seven dominates the category for best news coverage, with the network’s reports on Cyclone Alfred, Melbourne protests, and the assassination attempt on Donald Trump all nominated. Voting for nominees opened on Monday and will continue until 7pm on 1 August. The winners will be announced in Sydney on 3 August.
