In Talbot Green, which is located about 15 miles west of Cardiff, a man has been detained following the fatal shooting of a 40-year-old woman.
According to South Wales Police, the woman was discovered with severe injuries in the Green Park area of the Welsh town just after 6pm on Sunday, and unfortunately, emergency services were unable to save her.
The police apprehended a 42-year-old man from Talbot Green. To facilitate the investigation, multiple crime scenes were established in the area, and roads were temporarily closed.
Det Ch Insp James Morris stated, “I understand that this incident will cause concern in the community, and I want to assure everyone that a team of skilled detectives is working swiftly to piece together the events of last night.”
Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) county borough councillor Sarah Jane Davies called on residents to “remain vigilant” and expressed gratitude for their cooperation.
