Maurene Comey, the daughter of former FBI director James Comey and a prosecutor in the federal cases against Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jeffrey Epstein, has been fired by the justice department, according to sources familiar with the situation. The reason for her dismissal from the US attorney’s office in the southern district of New York remains unspecified.
Maurene Comey recently concluded the prosecution of Combs, who was found not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering charges but was convicted of lesser offenses related to prostitution.
Additionally, there have been hints of an investigation into James Comey, with unclear foundations, launched by the justice department. Comey was dismissed by Trump in 2017.
