A mild and cloudy Saturday is expected for the AFL Grand Final, with the match forecast to remain dry throughout. Approximately 100,000 fans are anticipated to fill Melbourne’s MCG when Geelong and Brisbane face off in the afternoon. Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Jonathan How predicts a sunny morning followed by a partly cloudy afternoon, with temperatures reaching up to 19 degrees Celsius. He expects fresh, westerly winds throughout the day and a possible evening shower, though unlikely to exceed 1mm. Geelong-based fans can anticipate a top temperature of 17 degrees Celsius, with increased cloud cover and potential late morning to early afternoon showers. Brisbane fans, however, will enjoy mostly sunny conditions, with temperatures expected to reach 28 degrees Celsius, followed by a cooler evening sea breeze. The weather for the AFL parade in Melbourne on Friday is forecast to have a top of 22 degrees Celsius with a slight chance of showers, and conditions will become more likely for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. It will be the first time Geelong and Brisbane have faced each other in the final match in the league’s history.
