The National Security Adviser to Donald Trump, Michael Waltz, has taken “full responsibility” for the creation of the group chat that resulted in the highly sensitive information about imminent strikes in Yemen being leaked. Waltz accepted responsibility after the Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, published an article suggesting that Waltz had unknowingly added a journalist to the chat. The chat was created on the messaging app Signal, which is not approved by the US for sharing classified information.
