Police Detain Three Teenage Girls in Connection to 75-Year-old Man’s Death in North London

Three teenage girls are currently in custody after being arrested in connection with the death of a 75-year-old man in the north London area of Seven Sisters Road. The man, believed to be from Bolivia, passed away at the hospital on Friday after being taken there from the scene earlier that day. The three girls, aged 14, 16, and 17, were initially arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm but the investigation is now being reviewed accordingly.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, who is in charge of the murder investigation, has stated that experts from across the Metropolitan Police have been working non-stop to determine the exact circumstances of the man’s death. They are following every available lead, including any forensic evidence and the examination of CCTV footage to piece together what happened. The public’s assistance is being sought, with anyone who witnessed the incident or has information being encouraged to come forward.

Superintendent Annmarie Cowley, a senior officer in Islington, understands that this tragic event will cause distress within the Holloway and Islington community. She wants to reassure the public that a comprehensive investigation is in progress to address concerns. Extra police patrols have been arranged for the local area, and officers on duty are there to provide support and gather any information locals may have. They will remain in the area during the weekend to assist and answer any questions residents may have.
