Portrait of Jason Phu by Abdul Abdullah Secures Packing Room Prize at 2025 Archibald Prize

A painting titled “No mountain high enough” by Abdul Abdullah, depicting Jason Phu sitting on a horse, has won $3,000 packing room prize at the annual Archibald prize. Both Phu and Abdullah, who are best friends, are part of the established art scene in Australia. The overall winner of the prestigious Archibald prize will be announced in May. The Archibald prize is now in its 34th year. This year’s finalists include several celebrities, such as Nicole Kidman and Aaron Chen, as well as artists like Natash Walsh and Vincent Namatjira. The exhibition will travel to municipalities such as Geelong and will be on display at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from May until August.
