Pro-Palestine protesters have interrupted a Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) performance at the BBC Proms in London, accusing the organization’s management of silencing artists who have criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza. The Jewish Artists for Palestine group disrupted the performance for more than 10 minutes on Friday night, with members shouting from the upper stalls of the Royal Albert Hall, including claims that the MSO “silenced artists” and “silenced protest”. Videos posted on social media showed group members carrying signs with the “Jewish Artists for Palestine” name and another reading “complicit in genocide”.
“No response has been given by the MSO to the protest and claims made,” said a report published by the Guardian.
