The man thought to be Antoine Massey, who is still a fugitive after fleeing from a New Orleans prison, has seemingly turned to Instagram to defend his innocence. In a viral video, Massey, identified as one of the ten men who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center on May 16th, claims that his conviction was wrongful and showed papers he says support this. Despite eight of the escapees having been caught, Massy’s whereabouts remain unknown. Authorities believe the man in the video is Massey, noting that his facial tattoos correspond to those on record. Massey has requested an inquiry into his conviction, seeking support from public figures like Donald Trump and Meek Mill. He asserts that the signed statement he holds, supposedly from a woman he’s accused of assaulting, proves his allegations are fabricated. Speaking directly to the camera, he questions why an innocent person would remain incarcerated. Massey’s history includes various charges of domestic violence and prior escapes from juvenile and adult detention facilities. The search for Massey and another escapee, Derrick Groves, continues with a $50,000 reward offered for any information leading to their capture. The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office acknowledges the video, urging Massey to surrender, emphasizing cooperation could prevent additional charges and ensure justice is appropriately served.
