Democratic Senator Tina Smith of Minnesota said the American people see in Elon Musk and Donald Trump the type of jerk bosses who lack respect for any worker’s efforts.
Smith candidly expressed her disdain for Musk and Trump, following her decision to leave office without controversy at the end of her term.
The 67-year-old Senator expressed her honor and responsibility in serving but stated she never felt she needed to do this until she was quite old.
Without an upcoming election, Smith has been vocal, siding with workers against the “dick boss” move by Musk, who isn’t even their boss.
Musk responded to Smith with a dismissive question about her weekly accomplishments, to which she reminded him that she answers to the people of Minnesota.
Smith felt outraged after seeing an email by Musk to federal employees, reflecting a common workplace annoyance many can relate to.
She believes her candidness and strong positions on issues are what voters need to see Democrats fighting for.
Smith’s political career spans working for Planned Parenthood, running campaigns, and serving in the Minnesota government.
She doesn’t sugarcoat her opinions, including her reaction to the US Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v Wade, but urges politicians to be real and genuine.
Smith advocates for her party to clearly oppose Trump and his allies and to pay more attention to people’s needs rather than just institutions.
Smith intends to serve out her remaining two years in the Senate, fighting Trump’s agenda and promoting her key causes.
Despite the speculation about potential comebacks, Smith is resolute about retiring and confident in the next generation of Democrats stepping up.
