An unlicensed beauty therapist in Sydney, known as Injector Josh, is currently under investigation by New South Wales health authorities for offering unauthorized Botox injections and “butt lifts” through his Instagram and Snapchat platforms. Operating under the username faisalbasim7 and injectorjosh_, he has been the focus of numerous complaints, according to the New South Wales Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC), who issued a health warning against him.

The commission stated that Injector Josh lacks the necessary qualifications to perform invasive cosmetic procedures legally in Australia and has administered controlled substances like botulinum toxin (Botox) without proper certification. Despite posing significant risks, he has moved between beauty clinics in Sydney to carry out high-risk procedures including anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, thread-based facelifts, and buttock augmentations.

The authorities express concern that Injector Josh is endangering public health by performing such procedures without the required qualifications and potentially misleading clients into believing his operations are lawful. In New South Wales, only authorized health practitioners are permitted to prescribe and administer anti-wrinkle and filler injections in approved facilities.

This warning follows a series of alerts regarding unlicensed beauty practitioners in the region. Last month, the HCCC issued a public health warning against the Ketthip Beauty Clinic on Sussex Street in Sydney’s CBD and imposed an interim ban on the clinic’s provision of health services. Earlier in the year, three women were hospitalized after receiving unregulated at-home anti-wrinkle injections, and customers of Fresh Cosmetic Clinic were advised to test for blood-borne viruses due to potential risks.
