Four teenagers accused of luring and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl in Sydney for six hours have been charged. The incidents, which allegedly took place in December 2024 in the city’s south-western suburbs, involved a 14-year-old boy as the youngest participant in the group. Two other men, aged 18 and 19, were also arrested on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in the attack and face a combined 14 counts of aggravated sexual assault. They are set to appear in court on Wednesday, with the younger man appearing before a children’s court.
According to police, the assault began when an unknown man approached the girl at a shopping center in Liverpool and managed to get into her car. Shortly after, he persuaded her to drive to a nearby park, where two other men joined them and the assault continued. A fourth man arrived in another car, and the sexual assault persisted as the girl was driven around.
Around 11:30 PM, the men left the girl in her car, and she was able to contact a friend who brought her to a police station. The matter was referred to the state crime command’s sex crimes squad, which established Strike Force Dungannon to investigate. A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Condell Park, and he was charged with 24 offenses, including nine counts of sexual intercourse without consent. A 14-year-old boy, arrested in Miller, was charged with 10 offenses, including seven counts of aggravated sex assault. Both boys were refused bail and appeared at a children’s court in December.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives executed search warrants in Sadleir and Heckenberg, leading to the arrests of the other teenagers involved in the alleged crime.
