Sydney Nurse Accused of Threats to Israeli Patients Contests Admissibility of Video as Evidence in New South Wales Case

A court case involving two former nurses accused of discussing the killing of Israeli patients is facing a potential challenge that could impact their prosecution. Sarah Abu Lebdeh and Ahmad Rashad Nadir were working at Bankstown-Lidcombe hospital in Sydney when a video emerged, purportedly showing them refusing to treat Israeli patients. The video, shared by an Israeli social media personality, Max Veifer, drew widespread criticism. The pair appeared in court where Nadir’s lawyer indicated plans to contest the admissibility of the video, arguing it was recorded without their knowledge. If the lawyer’s application is successful, it may leave prosecutors with insufficient evidence. Threats of violence against a group, using communication services to threaten murder, and harassing behaviors are among the charges filed against the nurses. They have been barred from nursing and are under strict bail conditions.
