Three individuals are currently in custody following the discovery of suspected human remains partially buried on a semi-rural property. The police were investigating reports of a missing person when they made this finding at a property located in Glenorie, on the outskirts of Sydney’s northwest region, around 11:30 am on Friday. The missing person is a 39-year-old man who was reported missing by his family around 9 pm on Thursday. New South Wales Police Detective Superintendent Naomi Moore stated that the remains may have been buried for a couple of days, and that officers found them covered with some items, making it difficult to confirm their identity. The police have arrested two men and a woman in their 20s and 30s, who are believed to be known to the missing man, but no charges have been laid yet. The investigation is being treated as suspicious and homicide detectives are involved. The crime scene has expanded to include the paddock where the remains were found and the home of the three individuals in custody. Det Supt Moore stated that the investigation is expected to require significant resources over the next few days.
