Three teen fatalities occur in Queensland collision as they try to pass a truck.

Three teenagers tragically died in Queensland after their vehicle collided with a dual-cab ute while trying to overtake on truck. The incident occurred late Friday night in Mackay, which is over 800 kilometers north of Brisbane. According to the police, the teens, two 19-year-old men and a 19-year-old woman, crashed with a Great Wall Cannon ute traveling in the opposite direction, driven by a 29-year-old man. Emergency services were called to the scene around 10:40 PM on Friday, and the 29-year-old man was taken to the hospital in a serious condition. Additionally, an Isuzu D-Max veered off the road to avoid the crash, and its occupants were not injured. The 68-year-old driver of the semi-trailer also escaped injury. The Mackay forensic crash unit is investigating the collision.
