Mahmoud Khalil’s pregnant wife stated in a Tuesday-night statement that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) silently arrested her husband in New York as a part of a move by the Trump administration, intending to revoke his green card and deport him. She appealed to the global community to voice out their disapproval of his unlawful and terrifying detention. On Saturday night, ICE apprehended Khalil in front of his wife before they could enter their Columbia University living quarters. He has been transported and detained in Louisiana. Authorities arrested Khalil, a lead negotiator in a Gaza solidarity encampment at Columbia, suggesting he supports terrorism.
