European Parliament’s International Trade Committee Head Stands by Anti-Coercion Instrument as ‘Last Resort’ Against Trump Tariffs
Donald Trump imposed a 10% tariff on all imported goods from major trading partners, aiming to go into effect on April 5, and introduced “reciprocal tariffs” on several countries from April 9. China’s imports have been particularly affected by the tariffs, with levies up to 50%. Canada and Mexico, though spared in the recent round, already face 25% tariffs on their goods.
Meanwhile, Trump’s national security advisor, Mike Waltz, and his team created at least 20 group chats on Signal to collaborate on sensitive national security matters, revealing concerns about operational details being shared on the platform. The administration denies any classified information was leaked.
