Victoria police have arrested and released a 42-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy in their ongoing search for Dezi Freeman, the alleged gunman who killed two officers and injured a third during a warrant execution in rural Porepunkah. No confirmed sightings of Freeman, 56, have been reported since the incident. Police raided a property in Chandler Court, Porepunkah, on Thursday night, and the man remains at large in the bush near Mt Buffalo. The PM confirmed federal support, including the AFP’s elite tactical unit, for the search, emphasizing the need to capture the dangerous suspect and provide safety to the affected community. A former neighbor of Freeman’s stated that he was familiar with the local terrain and had used drones to spy on her property. The search operation faces challenges from difficult terrain and severe weather conditions, which could hinder efforts to locate Freeman in the alpine region.
