Uh Oh! Workers Alert of Rat Overpopulation Issues at the Somerset Nuclear Facility | Furry Critter Issues

Construction workers at the Hinkley Point C nuclear reactor in Somerset have raised concerns about the prevalence of rats on the site. The Unite and GMB trade unions have warned the French energy giant EDF that urgent action is needed, as the rodents are “everywhere.” The growing vermin population has raised concerns about the health and safety of the workforce, which will expand to around 15,000 workers over the next 18 months. EDF is under pressure to deliver the plant by the early 2030s after significant delays and cost overruns. The trade unions have also raised concerns about security access to the site and the use of cheap labor on the project. EDF has stated that measures are in place to address the issue and that it is committed to working with the trade unions to provide a safe environment for all workers.
