United Airlines has suspended flights due to a technology issue and expects further delays later today. The airline stated that safety is their top priority and they will work with customers to get them to their destinations.
Ground stops have been issued for United Airlines flights at several US airports, including hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Newark, and San Francisco, according to the Federal Aviation Administration’s website. United Express flights and flights already in the air are not affected.
FlightAware reported that as of Wednesday evening, 28% or 876 of that day’s flights had been delayed. The airline apologized for the disruption and assured passengers that their teams are working to resolve the system error as quickly as possible.
