US and China officials have agreed on a framework for moving forward with trade discussions after two days of negotiations in London. This comes after the countries clashed over tariffs. US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated that concerns around “critical” or “rare earth” minerals and magnets will be addressed as the deal is implemented. The agreement will also ease some US export restrictions recently implemented.
