On Saturday, Donald Trump declared that the United States had executed strike operations on three nuclear facilities in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. According to Trump, all aircraft involved have now exited Iranian airspace. He made the announcement via a post on Truth Social, specifying, “We have successfully completed our strike on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, namely Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. Our aircraft are now clear of Iran’s airspace. A comprehensive payload of BOMBS was aimed at the primary target, Fordow. All planes have returned safely. Kudos to our exceptional American soldiers. No other military force worldwide could have achieved this. THE TIME FOR PEACE HAS COME! Thank you for your focus on this issue.”
Following his initial statement, Trump shared a screenshot from the Open Source Intel social media account, which stated, “Fordow is gone.” This hinted at the impact of the U.S. strikes on the Fordow facility.
The White House informed media outlets that Trump would address the nation at 10 PM ET regarding the incident. Earlier in the day, Reuters reported that B-2 bombers were relocated to Guam, in the Pacific, based on information from U.S. officials. These bombers were allegedly involved in targeting Iran’s nuclear sites. The strikes followed an ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran that has seen over a week of aerial skirmishes, resulting in casualties on both sides. Israel’s motive behind the attacks was to prevent Iran from potentially developing nuclear weapons, a claim Iran denies, asserting their nuclear program serves peaceful purposes. Efforts by Western countries to intervene diplomatically and halt the violence have thus far proven ineffective.
