In Seoul, South Korea, a South Korean fighter jet erroneously dropped eight MK-82 bombs on a civilian area during training on Thursday, resulting in the reported injury of seven people. According to the air force, the bombs were released “abnormally” outside of a firing range, resulting in unspecified civilian damages.
In response, the air force will establish a committee to investigate the cause of the accident and evaluate the extent of civilian damages. The fighter jet involved in the incident was participating in joint live-firing drills with the army.

According to Yonhap news agency, five civilians and two soldiers were injured, with two of the injured in serious but non-life-threatening condition. Additionally, it was reported that seven buildings were damaged as a result of the incident.
