Jayson Tatum of the Celtics had an impressive performance, scoring 40 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and dishing out eight assists. His teammate, Jaylen Brown, contributed 31 points and six rebounds to the win. Al Horford also played well for the Celtics, adding 14 points and nine rebounds to the score.
For the Lakers, James accumulated 22 points and 14 rebounds before leaving the game. He mentioned the injury as a “day-to-day” issue, expressing not much concern over it. Luka Doncic, leading the Lakers, scored 34 points and brought in eight rebounds, while also making five out of ten three-point shots. Only Austin Reaves of the Lakers managed to score in double figures, with 16 points.
The Lakers, who trailed by 22 points in the second half, managed to close the gap to just four points, thanks to two free throws by Doncic. However, they couldn’t come any closer, allowing the Celtics to secure the win. This loss brings an end to the Lakers’ eight-game winning streak and drops them to third place in the Western Conference with a 41-22 record.
The win improves the Celtics’ record to 46-18, keeping them in second place in the Eastern Conference, seven and a half games behind the leaders, Cleveland.
